As the main component of Binhai New Area, Tianjin Lingang Industrial Area is one of the key development areas in 11th Five-year Plan of Tianjin Binhai New Area. It is the national circular economy pilot park, and also is the petrochemical base planned by National Development Reform Committee. Lingang Industrial Area enjoys the total planning area of about 80 square kilometers. Its goal is to build the national major Chemical Industry Base, Ship-building and Repair Base and Equipment Manufacturing Base. Meanwhile, it will become a port logistics base, R & D transforming base and eventually, develop into a maritime industry town. Some projects have already been completed and reached producing, such as LG, Air Liquide (France), and Xin Longqiao, while Tianjin Alkali Works, Dagu Chemical Plant, China Chemical Industry, China National Petroleum Corporation, China Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Huaneng Power Plant, and others are moving into Area. Lingang Industrial Area has attracted a lot of investors at home and abroad. It is the highlights of TEDA and focuses much attention. The national major chemical industry base has taken shape and new economic growth points in Tianjin are emerging. Because Chemical industry and ship & machine building are the integrated industry, in the future, Lingang Industrial Area will cater for a number of issues in the field of chemicals, materials, biological and chemical, machinery, shipbuilding, construction engineering, telecommunications, automation, energy, and other instruments and meanwhile, provide a large number of talented persons in the related industry.
In order to support R & D activities, Lingang Industrial Area specially plans for Linggang S & T Park with the area of nearly two square kilometers which is used for entered enterprises. And some parts have been put into service in June, 2008. |
