THIP Location
Tianjin Harbor Industrial Park locates in the Bohai Bay Bank in north of China, Dagu Tianjin, the mouth area of Haihe River. It borders Tianjin Port, TEDA and Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone. It is about 10 km apart from Tanggu Center, about 50km apart from Tianjin urban area and about 160km to Beijing.
ton Harbor Industrial Park is separated from Tianjin Port by a river and it is one of the five largest areas of Tianjin Port. THIP will independently establish the 30km deepwater channel and 33 wharves of 10,000 to 250,000 DWT. In 2006, the channel with ten thousand DWT has dredged; in 2008, the fifty thousand DWT channel will be opened (100,000t watercrafts can pass with tides) with 12 million tons throughput capability; in 2010, the 100,000 DWT channel will be opened with 30 million ton throughput capability; in 2015, the 200,000 DWT channel will be opened with 60 million ton throughput capability; in 2020, the 250,000 DWT channel will be opened with 100 million ton throughput capability.
There are many main national railways pass through in and around the Tanggu District which is the start point of Eurasia Land Bridge. Jing-ha Railway Line goes through the District and arrives in the whole area of Northeast; Jing-hu Railway Line goes on the west of Tanggu, linking the areas of North and East of China with which the passengers and freight transportation can reach every part in the country and even reach the Europe. The under construction Jing-jin-tang city to city railway line will connect Tanggu, Tianjin and Beijing more closely. The railway of THIP will start from vehicle park of East Dagu Sub-area, go along with south bank of Dagu River and the east side of Coastal Road and enter into THIP, connecting with the Jing-ha Railway Line to realize the connection with the national railway net.
The Coastal Road circling the Bohai connects THIP and highways of Jing-jin-tang, north line of Jing-jin-tang, Jin-ji, Jin-bin and Dan-la, etc. as an organic unit. The Jinbin Light Rail Transit links the Tanggu District with urban districts of Tianjin as a whole. 
THIP is only 38 km from Tianjin Binhai International Airport—the largest air freight center of China, 160 km from Beijing Capital Airport—the largest passenger transportation airport of China and only 7 kilometers’ from Tanggu Airport.
There are rich resources in the surrounding areas of THIP. The Tanggu District where THIP locates occupies 92 kilometers’ coastal lines, 2,000 square kilometers marine area where there are abundant resources of petroleum, natural gas, geothermal heat, see salt and marine products etc, while the geothermal heat reserves is the second largest in the world.The geographic advantage promises the expansive development space for THIP.
